I found this Common Raven near the visitor center of Canyonlands National Park’s Island in the Sky area. He was a noisy and seemingly fearless creature perched on the beams of this well trafficked spot.
To many European cultures, the raven is a harbinger of death or somehow related to the darker side of the spiritual world. In Native American cultures, the raven was seen as a mischievous creature. According to mentalfloss.com, current studies show that these creatures are intelligent and social, on the level of dolphins and chimpanzees.
