I found this baby bear rolling around in the wood chips of his pin at the Wild Animal Sanctuary near Denver, Colorado.
This cub was one of three that momma was proudly watching over. The enclosure for the cubs was a nice, fairly large area that allowed them to grow before being released into the general bear population areas. The general bear areas were much larger (many acres) and give all the bears lots of space to roam. The viewing area for visitors is a long boardwalk that is suspended above the enclosures. It went right over the cub’s protective area allowing for bird’s-eye views of the cute cubs. The sanctuary does a good job of allowing the visitors to see the animals, but giving the priority to the creatures having lots of room to roam free, unlike a typical zoo. A place well worth visiting.
