The west coast of New Zealand’s Southern Island is a great place to get away from the busyness of the rest of the world. Here you will find glaciers amongst rain forests. This is a very rare occurrence in our world. Franz Josef glacier has carved the valley you see in the photo above. In its recession up the valley, the glacier has left behind pools like Peters Pool in New Zealand. These small bodies of water provide amazing reflective views of the glaciated landscape. This is a place of serenity far from the stresses of the world in a dense, lush forest.
