This is another look at the beautiful golden coast of Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand. This park has many gorgeous sandy bays and this one, known as Goat Bay, is no exception. There is something magical about backpacking along this rugged, remote coast. My wife and I had this particular stretch of beach like many others all to ourselves when we backpacked the 5 day route. It is a great trip for anyone who likes backpacking in relative solitude. We did the trail in April so not during New Zealand’s peak season. It is likely that it is busier during the height of summer, but probably an amazing journey either way.
