I took this image of a tree amongst the stars in Rocky Mountain National Park. I used my headlamp to light paint the tree. I love astrophotography, but it is a challenge to get the exposure right on the stars and the objects in the frame. It also usually involves me sitting in complete darkness for several minutes at a time in remote locations wondering if a bear or mountain lion is going to come along and eat my face. So, that part I don’t love, but the images are magical.
