This vertigo-inducing staircase is how the ranger of the Devil’s Head Lookout Tower makes his way daily. The tower is the last remaining of the original seven lookouts on Colorado’s front range. The 1.4-mile trail up to the tower is actually a fairly easy jaunt as Colorado hiking trails go. The staircase looks daunting but is only 143 steps. The tower itself is very small and only a small number of visitors are allowed in at a time.
