Cardboard Construction

CardboardConstructionThis is a look at the ceiling of what has been affectionately called the Cardboard Cathedral in Christchurch, New Zealand. Christchurch was hit by a devastating earthquake in 2011 that damaged a nearby 150-year-old Anglican church. It was decided to put up this temporary facility, the roof of which consists of cardboard concrete tubes sitting on top of shipping container walls. The architectural concept is so well-loved that it is now considered a permanent building and is a popular tourist stop.
