I took this picture in the Bosnia-Herzegovina countryside just outside of the small city of Čapljina.
I’m not sure if trains still run on this old bridge, but the other bridge on the right side of the image is used by locals as a diving board. It is an exhilarating 20’+ plunge into the river below. That is why we were visiting the area, but this scene is the image that lingers for me.
I like the way the grass is taking back the land the tracks possess. I also like the patina on the bridge speaking to the many years that it has been in use. The beautiful blue sky peaking through the bridge’s structure.
