Bishop’s Castle in Colorado is the odd-brain child of a single man, Jim Bishop. The castle started out as a cheap way to build a cabin with local stones, but soon grew into a vision of freedom and the true American dream.
This is a spiraling stair case up one of the four towers. The space houses the bells, but it isn’t at the terminus of the tower—it’s passed as one climbs. Just another example of thinking outside the traditional ideas of a castle, and the parts that make up the whole.
