Sticky Geranium

The Geranium Viscosissimum, or more commonly known as the Sticky Purple Geranium, is a flower found in western North America. The name geranium refers to the long seed pod that resembles the neck of a crane. The Greek word for crane is geranos. I found this beautiful flower while hiking in the mountains of Colorado this past July. This vibrant flower is fairly common in Colorado’s mountains during the late summer time.
