Providential Sky

Providential Sky

Welcome to June everyone! We made it…. to the hot months.

I don’t know about you, but it seems like it should still be January. I’m not sure where the heck the last few months have gone. I’m fairly certain I wasn’t abducted by aliens and then returned just now, but I can’t be for sure because the last few months have just disappeared. 🙂

But I digress. Today’s photo is from that gorgeous little canyon in Georgia (U.S. not Europe) known as Providence Canyon. This is one of those happy accidents caused by man. Who says manmade erosion is bad? Occasionally you get lucky and end up with something spectacular. Don’t know what I am talking about? Check out this post I did a while back: Georgia Erosion.

If you live in the southeastern United States and are looking for a great place to spend a day then you should put Providence Canyon on your summer to-do list. Actually you might wait until the fall as it would be a bit cooler…. It is the southeast after all.

I hope everyone has a great summer and that it comes in a slow, memorable manner. Jennifer and I have several backpacking adventures setup that I can’t wait to do and tell you all about… should we survive. What about you? Got some great plans ahead?

    1. That sounds awesome! Antelope Canyon and Petrified Forest are high on my list. I want to get a permit for The Wave in Utah and then work a similar trip in around that permit, but after three years of throwing money at the permit with no luck I am starting to wonder if I will ever get it. Anyways, I hope you have a blast!
