A few years ago I drove to Tennessee to visit with family. During my stay much of the midwest was on the receiving end of what was one of the worst ice storms I have ever experienced. Everything, including my car, was encapsulated in about half an inch of ice and the interstates were shut down for about 250 miles. I wasn’t sure how long it would take before I could return home.
The beauty that was encapsulated in the ice was stunning and the memories I made with my family was worth it all. My 5-year-old niece decided that she would try to help me remove the ice from my car. She saw me kicking the ice off the tires and decided that she would follow my lead and attempt to kick it of the side of the car. That isn’t exactly the way I would have wanted her to try to help, but it was cute.
