Photos are inevitably about light. It’s what makes a photo possible. This jungle scene wouldn’t be as good if it weren’t for those beams of light breaking through the canopy to illuminate the forest floor. But then again, you’re not looking at the forest floor, are you? You’re looking at the light beams….
This scene wasn’t found in some deep remote rainforest in South America, but rather much closer to the populated epicenter of Disney World. I took this at Blue Springs State Park near Orlando, Florida. Blue Springs is an oasis for manatee and crocodiles in what has otherwise become an overrun ecosystem. It is nice to find gems like this still exist.
