Yosemite National Park’s granite monoliths and waterfalls are well known. It was a state park before National Parks even existed. My wife and I pulled up to the Glacier Point lot late one evening as the sun was beginning to set and the clouds covered everything. We only had two days at the park and were rather disappointed by the thick clouds, but we made the short trek to the overlook. As we walked up, the clouds began to part and five minutes later the landscape was revealed. I think the clouds really add a lot to the image and we were very happy with our experience. The valley was visible for no more than ten minutes and then it was gone… perfect.
