I love nature and all the surprises she has! My wife and set out just before dawn to hike our first ambitious 13.7-mile leg of The Northern Circuit in New Zealand. The fog was thick as we started onto the well-defined trail, but as the sun came out it started to break up the low-lying fog and blue sky started to slowly appear. About an hour into our journey, we made our way across a ravine and started to hike up the side of an old lava flow when I turned around to be greeted by this unusual weather event. I had never even heard of a fogbow until I saw this one with my own eyes. It was super clear in the early light and my wife and I were astonished by its wholeness. This stunning view of the fogbow with Mt. Ruapehu standing in the background really set a great tone for an epic journey.
