Black-Eyed Susan

This is an odd photo for me because I absolutely love it. Let me explain. My wife hates Black-eyed Susans and Sunflowers. So I don’t usually take many shots of these massive yellow flowers and generally we walk by them without truly looking at them.

I ran across this one while hiking the Dome Rock Trail near Divide, Colorado. I found the way that the center of the flower bulges out to be different and rather intriguing so I took a few shots and moved on. When I saw it on my computerĀ I thought the center almost looked fake, like it was made of yarn or something. It looks like an intricately woven piece of art. Another example of an image that reveals more to me about the world we live in than the moment I originally experienced. It is a moment beyond.
